Someone: The Titantic movie really impacted me. I cried when Rose had to let Jake go.

Me: You know that scene in Cars 2 where the bad guy puts a bomb in Mater for the purpose of blowing him up when he's next to McQueen in order to kill the rookie, but Mater realizes this and tries to keep away from McQueen, but Lightning realizes that he's been a jerk to his best friend Mater and so he tries to get close enough to Mater so they can talk and Mater's like "Stay away from me!" and McQueen's like "No! We're best friends!" That shit stuck with me.

Which is the best Pixar movie? Hard to say, but I think most can agree Ratatouille and WALL•E are up there.

But which Pixar movies do I have the most attachment to? ...Cars 1 and 2.

I barely listened to Spotify this year, so it told me my number one song this year was a song I'm pretty sure I've never listened to in my entire life.

Just realized something with regards to the farm build. I want to use mycelium for the mushroom part of it, and I've still yet to find a mushroom island :/

I'd rather not explore more than 1k blocks around my spawn just so I won't have to go far in order to get to the new stuff of 1.17, so I guess I'll just have to use nylium until then.

supermario -

I want to improve my crop farms aesthetically, but I also have no idea what to do with it.

supermario -

Okay, came up with an idea: a hill of sorts with tiers with the bottom tier the netherwart and the highest tier the chorus fruit farm.

I'll want to make imperfectly shaped farms for the aesthetic aspect, so chances are they won't be as highly yielding as they were before, but they don't need to be. Plus, if I'm really in need, I can just go to some random place away from my base and make farms there.

Headcanon: Daisy is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, (Modern Standard) Arabic and Spanish. Her native language is Mandarin Chinese, and she learned the other languages while growing up as they're the official/widely used languages of the four kindgoms that make up Sarasaland.

While not fluent in it, she can understand some Portuguese, and she knows little bits of various other languages.

(Of course, these languages would probably be named differently in the Super Mario 'verse.)

Reasons Bandana Waddle Dee should be made a fighter in Smash

  1. They're just a funky little guy.

  2. Seriously, look at their face. Could you say no to a cute face like that that craved violence?

  3. They main a spear which I think is pretty unique compared to all the sword anime guys like Steve and Alex Minecraft.

  4. It'd be hilarious if Bandee ended up a high tier. Imagine a cute little Waddle Dee absolutely annihilating everyone in his path.

I remember that there had been talks of a Codename: Kids Next Door reboot/revival which seems not to have gone through. I think it would be interesting to see a reboot, though, obviously with some changes to improve the show and reflect changes in the world since when it ended in 2008.

Actually, since I've been thinking of the Miis lately, here's a discussion: are the Mii Fighters from SSB4 the same as the ones from SSBU?

I'm gonna be talking a lot about the appearances of the Miis, so I'll link their SmashWiki articles which have a photo for them.

Mii Gunner: SSB4 / SSBU

Mii Brawler: SSB4 / SSBU

Mii Swordfighter: SSB4 / SSBU

So now with those images in mind, we notice the appearance for the Miis are different... and yet very similar. Without considering the shift from a more cartoony to realistic look, we notice that the hairstyles/(some) eyebrow styles and clothes are different (as well as some difference in the exact shade of hair color for Gunner and Swordfighter). Otherwise? They have the same eye/face shape and noses. Notice that the differences are things that can change easily with time, but the similarities are things not so easily changed. Some of the differences, like eyebrow style and hair color, can also be said as a result of the shift to realism style change.

To me, I think they could be the same Miis, just with more years to them; that is, from SSB4 to SSBU, some time passed and so the Miis grew up a bit. The SSB4 Miis just give me the impression that they are a younger version of the SSBU Miis. Of course, the SSB4 Miis probably appear younger because of their more cartoony style. Still, that doesn't disqualify this interpretation.

Another thing pointing to the possibility that they aren't different Miis is that they seem to be the default Miis one might be familiar with. These Miis have the designation of "Guest," according to the WiiSports Fandom Wiki, and the Wiki also says that Mii Gunner appears similar to Guest F, Mii Brawler to Guest C and Mii Swordfighter to Guest B. The fighters being the default Miis also makes sense for their role in Smash. They are meant to be blank canvases for the player to customize as desired.

Of course, one could also interpret them just as that––not so much as characters as they are dolls/action figures. That is also a valid interpretation; I just prefer them being actual characters rather than puppets of a sort.

If we do decide to see them as characters, then, that leads to another question... What should their names be?

Something that bothered me on Tumblr that I haven't seen here would be posts where someone would have the image up of the transphobic description of Birdo/Birdetta from the Super Mario Bros. 2 manual and then have a caption like, "Canon trans character!" or something else meant to be positive. I'm not saying their intent was bad, but it got kinda tiring and irritating to see a really transphobic description framed as a good thing.

Yes, Birdo/Birdetta is canonically a trans woman, but this has consistently been shown only through transphobic ways. This isn't even old news. As recent as Super Mario Party and Mario Tennis Aces, when playing on the British English versions of the games, she is misgendered rather than referred to with she/her pronouns. So, yeah, we have a canon trans girl, but at the expense of surplus amounts of transphobia.

Wait, since Thell's gonna be freeing up blog names when 1.0 hits, that means the gamecube blog name will be free :eyes_emoji:

supermario -

But the supermario name... I am conflicted.

Iggy Koopa would legitimately want Hatsune Miku in Smash.

Some Mii headcanons!

(Serious injury mention in first bullet point.)

  • Sometime before SSB4, Mii Gunner got into a freak accident that resulted in her losing her arm. During the adjustment period after, Matt (the one from Wii Sports and other titles) served as her physical therapist. She now really admires Matt and looks up to him.

  • Matt trained all the Mii Fighters (Mii Gunner, Brawler and Swordfighter) and recommended them to Master Hand for SSB4. Matt was really proud to see them return in SSBU.

  • Miis love to wear costumes––the sillier the better! It is also very common for a Mii to have wildly different attire from day to day––they could be goth one day then prep the next.

  • All Miis' voices are monotone and tend to have very little emotion, and muteness/nonverbality/semiverbality is pretty common among Miis. Miis are therefore way more reliant on facial expressions than non-Miis in order to determine how others are feeling, so Miis tend to exaggerate expressions more.

  • Miis thus have a really hard time trying to read other non-Miis, and it takes a really long time for them to get the hang of which tones equal which emotions.

  • It is common knowledge in the Mii 'verse that other 'verses exist. It's very common for Miis to visit these other 'verses, even if it's just to observe the current adventure.

  • Mii Swordfighter was the one who thought up the Sans Creeper costume. All the Miis involved in Smash love it. Opinions widly vary among the non-Mii fighters (they tend to lean toward the negative, however).

Enjoy my shoddy video-taking! I'd say that, at least for now, this build is done.

Thanks to @beefox and @autiestella for the ideas I used in this build!

Not exactly done yet, but getting close...

The idea of this build is to make it seem like the End is leaking through the portal. Once 1.17 hits (and if I decide to keep the world), I'll most likely go back and add the skulk things to this build.

Any suggestions?

The black and purple residue surrounds the portal, and appears as if it originates from the portal. End ID.]

The kinda anti-union line Toadette gives you in Super Mario Maker 2 is already weird, but it's also weirder when you consider that she says this to Mario.

Mario, who has been a construction worker, demolitionist, factory worker, plumber, doctor, etc. Mario is likely in one if not multiple unions.

Maybe I'm biased, but I'm not a fan of streaming services or what-have-you dumping an entire season of a show at one time. I feel like I can't really pace myself so well, so I end up with an entire season's worth of information to soak in rather than just one episode, so I end up feeling like it was way more rushed or just not as enjoyable.

The obvious answer is to, you know, just pace myself better, but I also enjoy looking up fan content as well––it helps keep my interest up. But of course, when an entire season's uploaded, stumbling on spoilers would just be inevitable.

supermario -

@autiestella, that's understandable. I also tend to forget stuff if it takes a while for a new episode to release... Really, the ideal scenario would be maybe an episode released weekly? Just enough to fully absorb one episode and talk about it/whatever and have that suspense of "what's gonna happen?" without too much wait.

Like, for instance, since Steven Universe was a TV program, it released episodes rather than full seasons. But the pacing for when episodes would release was just all over the place and would sometimes take forever, so I'd forget stuff and just lose interest even though I really liked the show.

It's just a really hard and subjective balance to maintain...

I have finally cleared all of the mountain... it took... so long...

Now to get to the actual build.

The CW just kept on digging this hole of theirs but completely forgot they were slinging the dirt up top for us to see. Oh my god.
